The Elka Boutique, located at Rue des Chavannes in the heart of Neuchâtel, is proud to transform its space into a gallery where precision watchmaking meets contemporary painting. We are delighted to host an exclusive exhibition by Swiss artist Laurent Gallay.

The Artist: Laurent Gallay — A Harmony of Color and Sound

From his studio in Arnex-sur-Orbe, Laurent Gallay creates works where painting and music engage in a continuous dialogue. His non-figurative compositions explore light and depth through dense textures and subtle gradients. Each canvas captures a vibrant emotion, inviting the viewer into a personal interpretation within his abstract landscapes.

Why This Exhibition?

Inviting Laurent Gallay to the Elka Boutique was a natural aesthetic choice. Every Elka timepiece is defined by its signature, organic "pebble" shape—a tactile softness that finds a direct echo in the fluidity of the artist’s work.

This connection is particularly striking with our Series S. The minimalism of our monochrome, sunray-finished dials seems to extend naturally into Laurent’s canvases. One finds the same nuances, the same interplay of light, and the deep tones that define Elka’s visual identity. By displaying these works alongside our watch collections, Utinam clocks, and Moscot eyewear, we offer our visitors a complete sensory experience. It is an invitation to slow down and observe the passage of time—not only through the movement of hands on a dial but through the layers of color and texture created by an artist who has explored the world’s sensitivity for over fifty years.
