"Dragons" by Jean Uroz

The Elka Watch Co. space has been transformed to host the universe of Jean Uroz. For this exhibition, the theme of the Dragon emerged as a natural choice, creating a seamless dialogue between precision craftsmanship and the fantastic soul of Neuchâtel.

The choice of this theme is rooted right outside our doorstep. Walking up the Rue des Chavannes, one’s gaze is captured by the monumental dragon designed by John Howe and painted by Kesh and Wilo, which guides passersby toward the Tower of the Fantastic. By exhibiting Jean Uroz's work, we wanted to offer an additional step in this imaginary journey, extending the legend inside the boutique.

A Swiss artist of Spanish origin trained at the Corcoran School of Art in Washington DC, Jean Uroz is a versatile creator who explores the figure of the dragon through a multitude of mediums. The exhibition unveils black iron sculptures where the metal, welded and tamed, seems to come to life to capture the movement and power of these creatures. In parallel, his paintings and pencil works reveal another facet of his talent: a search for absolute finesse where every pencil stroke and shade of color highlights the dragon's anatomy and nobility. This mastery of pure drawing, combined with the strength of sculpture, echoes the rigor of watchmaking creation.

The exhibition is open to all, and we invite you to discover this fascinating bestiary in the heart of the boutique, where the time of man meets the time of legends.
