In 2026, the Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles du Maroc celebrates its 35th edition, marking three and a half decades of extraordinary adventure. This unique, 100% female, off-road navigation rally-raid will take place from March 27 to April 11, 2026, amidst the vast and majestic Moroccan desert.
Unlike traditional rallies where speed is key, the Rallye des Gazelles is an orientation competition. The crews, composed of two women, are tasked with reaching several checkpoints scattered across the desert by driving the shortest possible distance. To achieve this, they use neither GPS nor phones. Their only navigation tools are "old-school": a map, a compass, and a plotter. It is a true test of strategy, concentration, and team cohesion. Eco-driving is prioritized, as covering the fewest kilometers leads to victory. This unique approach has made the rally the only automotive competition in the world to be ISO 14001 certified for its environmental commitment.
For its 35th anniversary, the route promises to be intense. It will span over 2,500 kilometers and consist of 9 stages, including two "marathons." These special stages are particularly demanding, as the "Gazelles" do not return to the bivouac for the night, sleeping alone in the heart of the desert. The official start, following technical and administrative checks in France, will take place on March 28, 2026. The adventure will conclude on April 11 with the traditional parade of crews on the beach of Essaouira, a symbolic finish line marking the end of a memorable journey.
Beyond the sporting aspect, the Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles is a deeply human and charitable adventure. The event is guided by values of perseverance, mutual aid, and respect.A vital part of the event is the Cœur de Gazelles association. Thanks to this organization, the rally does more than just cross the desert; it leaves a positive and lasting footprint. A medical caravan follows the race to provide free healthcare to remote local populations, while sustainable development projects and community aid initiatives are carried out year-round.The Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles is much more than a race. It is a quest for self-discovery, a challenge of personal growth, and a powerful vehicle for female solidarity. Participating in this rally means embarking on a meaningful journey, pushing one's limits, and contributing to a cause that makes a real difference.
